Local musicians are invited to participate in nightly sessions to be held at every stop of the flotilla.

The Boys of Wexford include Don Sinetti, Steve Roys and Tony Morris.  Other musicians expected to join the group en route include Bill Wallach and George Ward, nationally known Erie Canal balladeer.  Another folk favorite, Claudine Langille, of Touchstone and Gypsy Reel adds spice to the entourage with songs of sea and shore.  Other Connecticut based artists include Sheri Mortimer and Jay “Bonesman” Kormoski, both regulars at P.V. O’Donnell’s Wednesday night sessions at McKinnon’s in Hartford, Connecticut.

The history-making excursion follows four years of music making along the Erie Canal by the “Boys”.  The group’s name comes from a tune from the Irish Rebellion of 1798, reflective of Hartford’s sister city, New Ross, County Wexford.  A great tradition with this show of Celtic music, sea songs and canal tunes has been created over the last five years.

Singers, players and hangers-on are welcome along the way.  Please call 860-570-1312 for details
